Pakistan Deputy PM calls on Jamaat Ameer

DHAKA, Aug 24, 2025 (BSS) – Visiting Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister and Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar paid a courtesy call on Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman at his residence here this afternoon.

Ishaq Dar was accompanied by Pakistan Prime Minister’s Special Assistant Tariq Bajwa, Director General (South Asia and SAARC) of the Pakistan Foreign Ministry Ilyas Mehmood Nizami, Pakistan's High Commissioner in Dhaka Imran Haider, Deputy High Commissioner Muhammad Wasif and Political Counsellor Kamran Dangal, among others.

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Nayeb-e-Ameer Dr. Syed Abdullah Md. Taher, Assistant Secretary General advocate Ehsanul Mahbub Zubair and Ameer-e-Jamaat's Foreign Affairs Adviser Professor Dr. Mahmudul Hasan were present.

Ishaq Dar inquired about the health of Dr. Shafiqur Rahman and prayed for his speedy recovery. 

The Ameer-e-Jamaat expressed its sincere gratitude to the Deputy Prime Minister of Pakistan for the courtesy call.

After the meeting, Nayeb-e-Ameer Dr. Syed Abdullah Md. Taher gave a brief briefing to the journalists.
