JU authorities form JUCSU appeal committee

JAHANGIRNAGAR UNIVERSITY, Sept 17, 2025 (BSS) - Jahangirnagar University (JU) authorities have formed a three-member appeal committee to deal with complaints related to the recently held Jahangirnagar University Central Students’ Union (JUCSU) polls on September 11.

JU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Mohammad Kamrul Ahsan constituted the committee on Tuesday in line with article 8(J) of the JUCSU Constitution 2025, confirmed today by JU’s acting registrar A B M Azizur Rahman.

The members of the committee are acting Dean of Business Studies faculty Associate Professor Abu Sayef Md Muntaquimul Bari Chowdhury, Provost of Shaheed Salam-Barkat Hall Prof Dr Md Abdul Halim and JU Proctor Prof Dr A K M RashidulAlam.

According to the JUCSU Constitution, any complaint regarding the election can be submitted to the JUCSU President within three days of the results, and the appeal committee must settle the issue within 14 days.
