ACC conducts drives against corruption, irregularities

DHAKA, Sept 17, 2025 (BSS) –The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has conducted operations in Dhaka, Kushtia and Rangamati over allegations of corruption involving money laundering, recruitment irregularities and misuse of development funds.

In Dhaka, the ACC raided the Wildlife Management and Nature Conservation Office over allegations of laundering hundreds of crores of Taka in disguise of bird imports. 

Relevant documents including import records and NOCs were seized for investigation.

In Kushtia, an ACC team inspected the Civil Surgeon’s office and the 250-bed General Hospital following complaints of recruitment anomalies and harassment in medical services. 

Another operation was conducted by ACC's Rangamati Integrated District Office on allegations of various corruption and irregularities, including raising bills without completing project work in Rangamati Hill District Council, irregularities in issuing work orders and demanding bribes in paying bills to contractors.

Documents related to multiple projects were collected for further review.

The ACC said detailed reports from each operation will be submitted after analysis.
