TANGAIL, Sept 18, 2025 (BSS) – BNP Publicity Secretary Sultan Salauddin Tuku today said a conspiracy is underway centering the next parliamentary election through discussions on the proportional representation (PR) system.
“People do not understand the PR system. People will vote in the same way they have voted in the past. Now some people are hatching a conspiracy centering the election by talking about the PR system. And those who are opposing the election are enemies of democracy,” he said.
Tuku said this while exchanging views with BNP leaders and activists of 12 unions of Tangail district at a hotel in the town.
The BNP leader said the VP election and the national election are not the same.
He said the election will be held at the time announced by the government.
BNP former district member secretary Mahmudul Hasan Sanu, former Chhatra Dal general secretary Shafiqul Islam Shafiq and Sadar upazila senior joint secretary Advocate Azim Uddin Biplob, among others, addressed the meeting with BNP Tangail Sadar upazila unit president Azgar Ali in the chair.
