MUNSHIGANJ, Sept 18, 2025 (BSS) –The Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief has allocated 172.50 metric tons (MT) of rice for 345 puja mandaps in Munshiganj district ahead of the upcoming Sharodiyo Durga Puja.

According to the District Relief and Rehabilitation Office, the rice has been distributed among mandaps across six upazilas of the district to support the food needs of devotees during the Puja celebrations.

As per official data, 22 MT of rice has been allocated for 44 mandaps in Munshiganj Sadar upazila, 5 MT for 10 mandaps in Gazaria, 26 MT for 52 mandaps in Tongibari, 17 MT for 34 mandaps in Louhajang, 60.5 MT for 121 mandaps in Sirajdikhan and 42 MT for 84 mandaps in Sreenagar.

District Relief and Rehabilitation Officer Muhammad Mubinur Rahman said that each mandap is receiving 5 MT of rice. 

He added that if the number of puja mandaps increases, allocation of rice will be made accordingly.
