JAHANGIRNAGAR UNIVERSITY, Sept 18, 2025 (BSS) - Newly elected leaders of Jahangirnagar University Central Students’ Union (JUCSU) were sworn in this afternoon.

Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mohammad Kamrul Ahsan administered the oath this afternoon at the university’s Senate Hall. Family members of the July Uprising martyrs, deans, hall provosts, faculty members, students, and university officials were present.

A one-minute silence was observed before the ceremony to honor the late Lecturer of the Fine Arts Department, Jannatul Ferdous, who passed away while performing electoral duties.

Independent candidate Abdur Rasid Zitu was elected Vice President from the ‘Shotontro Shikkharthi Sommilon’ panel, while Mohibullah Sheikh Jisan became Cultural Secretary and Mahmudul Hasan Kiron Sports Secretary as independent candidate.

Ahsan Labib, candidate from ‘Shikkharthi Oikya Forum’, backed by Bangladesh Democratic Students’ Council (BDSC), secured the post of Social Service and Human Resource Development Affairs Secretary, while Mohammad Ali Chisty was elected an executive member.
