AL, BCL leaders arrested for anti government activities

JAMALPUR, Sept 18, 2025 (BSS) - Detective Branch of Jamalpur Police in a drive arrested an Awami League (AL) leader and a banned Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leader for involving in anti government activities from Dhaka on Wednesday night.

Police in a press briefing said after changing the plot on August 5, 2024, Jamal Pasha,43, General Secretary of Jamalpur Pourasava ward AL and former councilor of the ward No-6 and Shahed Ali,21, Organising Secretary, District BCL went into hide. They took shelter in Dhaka and in various times the two leaders involved with subversive activities and conspiracy against the interim government. Recently they held abrupt and whisked rally in the 
capital under the banner of AL.

Acting on a tip off a team of the Detective Police arrested Jamal Pasha from Farm Gate area and Shahed Ali from Uttara house building area in the capital.

Additional Superintendent of Police, Md Sohel Mahmud briefed the journalists over the arrest at the conference room of district police.
