BAF-US PACAF joint-exercise holds on ENCAP programme in Ctg

DHAKA, Sept 18, 2025 (BSS) -  As part of the ongoing seven-day joint-exercise ‘Operation Pacific Angel 25-3’, the Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) and the US Pacific Air Forces (US PACAF) held an ENCAP ceremony at Anwara Upazila Health Complex in Chattaogram today, said a release of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Directorate here this evening.
 
Under the ENCAP programme, necessary infrastructure renovation, building repairs, sanitation development and addition of medical equipment have been done in the health complex.
 
Air commander of Air Force Base Zahurul Haque Air Vice Marshal Haider Abdullah attended the event as the chief guest and inspected the newly renovated health complex.
 
The BAF also handed over modern electro-medical equipment to the health complex authorities, which is expected to significantly improve healthcare services for local residents.
 
High-ranking officials of the Bangladesh Air Force and the US Pacific Air Force, Divisional Health Directors, a delegation from the Civil Surgeon's Office, members of the local administration and individuals at various levels were present at the event.
 
Operation Pacific Angel is a joint exercise between the BAF and the US Pacific Air Force aimed at enhancing humanitarian assistance, delivering medical services, upgrading infrastructure, and fostering regional cooperation.
 
The main objective of which is to provide humanitarian assistance, conduct medical activities, develop infrastructure and increase regional cooperation, the ISPR earlier mentioned.
 
Through this exercise, mutual understanding, coordination and friendly relations between the armed forces of the two countries will be further strengthened.
 
The exercise, which began on September 13, focuses on various aspects of humanitarian assistance and disaster relief (HADR) and emergency medical operations, including patient transport, search and rescue, flood response, and coordination during flying operations. 
 
The drills aim to enhance professional skills, improve interoperability, and strengthen cooperation between the two air forces and their respective armies and navies.
