KHULNA, Nov 20, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General and
former parliament member Mia Golam Parwar said today that women, alongside
men, have historically played a vital role in the establishment of Islam and
must continue to step forward to help build a just, welfare-oriented society.
Speaking at a female voter gathering in Atara-Gilatola Union of Khulna-5
constituency, Parwar said that Islamic principles ensure peace, justice and
equal rights for all, and called for electing God-fearing and Islamic-minded
candidates in the upcoming national polls.
He rejected allegations that Jamaat "sells tickets to paradise," saying the
party only conveys the guidance of the Holy Qur'an. He also accused political
opponents of obstructing Islamic activities, including women's religious
programmes, claiming such actions hinder Islam rather than Jamaat.
Parwar said that Islamic principles are essential to ensure peace and well-
being in personal and national life. If Islamic law is implemented in the
state, people of all religions, races and communities will live peacefully,
he observed.
"A state run with justice and fairness would be free from extortion,
terrorism, tender manipulation and land grabbing. Only Islam guarantees equal
rights for all," he asserted.
He called for electing Islamic scholars and God-fearing candidates in the
upcoming national elections to ensure peace and welfare for all citizens.
Chaired by the ward president Md Shafiqul Islam, the meeting was also
addressed by district secretary Munshi Mizanur Rahman, assistant secretary
Principal Gausul Azam Hadi, district council member Advocate Abu Yusuf Molya,
Khanjahan Ali Thana Ameer Dr Syed Hasan Mahmud Tito, secretary Gazi Morshed
Mamun, leaders Md Sultan Mahmud, Md Mosharraf Hossain, Nur Islam Gazi, Md
Rana Akunji and others. Secretary Md Kamrul Gazi conducted the programme.
Earlier in the day, Parwar conducted mass outreach in Dakatia village and
later addressed a Mahfil at Sajiara Shamsul Ulum Madrasa.
