
DHAKA, Nov 26, 2025 (BSS) - A team from Dhaka University (DU) has visited the Uttara residential area as an alternative accommodation for students during the construction of new residential halls and renovation of halls.
The team inspected the possible facilities, security, transportation facilities and infrastructure of the alternative accommodation and assessed its potential usability, said a press release here today.
It said that the university administration is working sincerely to ensure safe and suitable accommodation for students. Appropriate decisions will be taken after an overall evaluation of the inspected facilities, it said.
DU Treasurer Professor Dr M Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, Secretary of the Bridge Division and Executive Director of the Bangladesh Bridge Authority Mohammad Abdur Rouf, Retired Secretary (Technical and Madrasa Education Division) Dr KM Kabirul Islam, Dhaka University Accounts Director Mohammad Saiful Islam, Acting Chief Engineer Kazi Md Akram Hossain, Acting Estate Manager Fatema Binte Mustafa, Transport Manager Md Kamrul Hasan, DUCSU VP Sadiq Kayem, AGS Mohiuddin Khan and Student Transport Secretary Asif Abdullah, among others, were in the team.
