DMP files 1,677 cases against traffic rule violations

DHAKA, Nov 26, 2025 (BSS) - The Traffic Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan 
Police (DMP) has filed 1,677 cases against motor vehicles for violating 
traffic rules in a single day across the capital.

A media release of the DMP today said that they filed those cases and 
realized the money on Tuesday (November 25) through their regular drives 
against the traffic rule breakers.

A total of 372 motor vehicles were dumped and 253 vehicles were wrecke due to 
poor driving practices, said Talebur Rahman, deputy commissioner (Media and 
Public Relations Division) of the DMP.

Of the cases, DMP's Motijheel traffic division filed the highest 344 cases 
while Wari Division filed 114 cases, Tejgaon division 279 cases, Mirpur 
division 166 cases, Gulshan division 239 cases, Uttara division 255 cases, 
Ramna division 126 cases and Lalbagh division filed 154 cases.

"The drives will continue to ensure discipline on the city streets," the 
release said, adding that the DMP has been working to bring the traffic 
system under smooth in the capital for giving city dwellers easy movement.
