LALMONIRHAT, Nov 27, 2025 (BSS) - BNP central organizing secretary and former deputy minister Principal Asadul Habib Dulu said that those who do not accept the country's independence cannot work for the welfare of the nation.
He made the remarks night while addressing a programme to induct new BNP members from wards 7 and 8 of Lalmonirhat municipality on Wednesday.
Dulu said that after the fall of a fascist government, a new political force has emerged and is creating controversy over the spirit of independence.
He said three million people, including his father, sacrificed their lives during the Liberation War, and many women were subjected to repression, yet some still deny the country's independence.
Dulu added those who did not accept Pakistan in 1947 and refused to acknowledge Bangladesh in 1971 would not be able to work for the nation's welfare.
The BNP leader alleged that a particular political party is deliberately using religious sentiments.
