Metro rail services to be suspended for 40 minutes on Victory Day

DHAKA, Dec 15, 2025 (BSS) – Metro rail services will be suspended for 40 minutes on Tuesday on the occasion of Victory Day.

“The operation of the mass rapid transit (MRT) line-6 will remain halted for 40 minutes (from 11:50am to 12:30pm) on December 16 to ensure the safety of para troopers,” according to a notification of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) on Monday afternoon.

In the notification, the metro rail authority stated that the temporary halt is necessary to ensure the safety of the paratroopers during the parajumping display scheduled to take place over the Tejgaon Old Airport area marking the Victory Day.

Metro rail authorities said they sincerely apologise for the temporary inconvenience caused to passengers during this period.
