In the statement, the NTF honoured Sharif Osman Hadi for his courageous leadership in the student-people's mass uprising against fascism and hegemony in Bangladesh, consistently opposing both domestic and international interference.
Hadi played an active role in movements for national sovereignty, democracy, voting rights and freedom of expression, it stated.
The forum said Hadi's ideals, fighting spirit and self-sacrifice would continue to inspire future generations to build an independent, democratic and just Bangladesh.
The teacher leaders prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and extended sympathies to the bereaved family members, relatives and comrades.
The NTF also urged the government to ensure the safety of people, particularly participants of the July uprising, and to prevent any obstruction to the upcoming national elections.
It also condemned recent attacks on media, cultural groups and activists, calling upon all anti-fascist forces to remain united.
