
DHAKA, Dec 21, 2025 (BSS) – Members of Club Notre Dame Bangladesh Limited (CNBL) have elected Syed Abu Naser Bukhtear Ahmed, chairman of Agrani Bank, as its president.
In the election held in a festive atmosphere, Naser Bukhtearr secured 485 votes, while his rival Mohammad Zahirul Islam Kochi received 145 votes, said Sujan Mahmud, a member of the Media Sub-Committee, today.
He said CNBL, an alumni organization of the country’s renowned educational institution Notre Dame College (NDC), held its annual general meeting at the Father Joseph S Peixotto Banquet Hall in Banani yesterday.
CNBL members cast their votes from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm to elect the executive committee for the 2026–27 term, Sujan added.
Besides the president, the other elected executive members are Khaled Faisal Rahman Jitu (607 votes), Abu Saleh Mohammad Sayem (594), Sheikh Aminur Rahman Chanchal (569), Sheikh Munirul Alam Tipu (555), Md Nazrul Islam Mallick (543), Adnan Nafis (522), Saiful Islam (507), Ariful Islam Chowdhury (498), Dr Jobayer Hossain (460) and Kazi Mohammad Mahbubul Haque (429).
A total of 14 candidates contested for 11 posts in the CNBL election.
