DHAKA, Dec 22, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today imposed a travel ban on Zahid Faruk, former minister of water resources.

Mohammad Abdullah Al Mamun, judge of the Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge’s Court, passed the order following an application submitted by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

The ACC stated that an investigation is currently underway against Zahid Faruk for allegedly acquiring substantial illegal wealth. According to reliable sources, there is a possibility that the accused may flee abroad if given the opportunity.

Therefore, in the interest of ensuring a proper and fair investigation into the allegations, the court considers it is necessary to impose a ban on his foreign travel.
