JASHORE, Dec 28, 2025 (BSS) - Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) on Saturday night distributed blankets among cold-stricken people in Jashore town and the Benapole border area.

The blanket distribution programme was jointly organised by the BGB Jashore Region Headquarters and Jashore BGB-49 Battalion. 

As part of the initiative, BGB personnel distributed blankets to the cold hit people  suffering from the cold in the Jashore Railway Station area and the Benapole land port area of the district.

Major Nur Uddin Ahmad, Deputy Commander of Jashore BGB-49 Battalion led the programme. He said that a total of 200 cold-stricken people received blankets under the initiative, which was carried out following directives from the BGB headquarters.

Major Nur Uddin Ahmad added that alongside ensuring border security and preventing smuggling, BGB will continue to undertake humanitarian activities for people living in border areas.
