DHAKA, Dec 28, 2025 (BSS) – Freedom Fighter (FF) Md Habibur Rahman, also known as Shahjahan Paik, father of Mozammel Haque Chanchal, special correspondent of Daily Jugantar, has passed away.

Chanchal stated that his father died this noon at the age of 83 due to age-related complications.

Habibur Rahman is survived by his wife, three sons, a daughter, and numerous relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.

His first Namaz-e-Janaza was held at Syedbosta village under Damuddya Upazila in Shariatpur district, after which he was laid to rest in the family graveyard.

Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) president Abu Saleh Akan and general secretary Mainul Hasan Sohel expressed deep shock and sorrow over the death of FF Habibur Rahman. 

In a message of condolence, they prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family.
