DHAKA, Dec 28, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has postponed its mass rally scheduled for January 3, citing clashes with ongoing university admission examinations.

In a statement, the party's Secretary General Mia Golam Parwar said the decision was taken as undergraduate (Honours) first-year admission tests for the 2025-26 academic year will be held on the same day at nine agricultural universities across the country.

"As the admission tests are scheduled for January 3, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has decided to suspend the previously announced rally to avoid inconvenience to students," the statement said.

The party added that it would announce a new date for the rally later.
