DHAKA, Dec 28, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Khelafat Majlish Ameer Maulana Mamunul Haque today submitted his nomination papers for Dhaka-13 constituency in the 13th parliamentary election slated for February 12.

After submitting his nomination, Mamunul Haque urged the countrymen to cast ‘Yes’ vote in the forthcoming referendum on July National Charter to ensure the legal foundation of the charter.

He submitted the nomination papers this afternoon to the Returning Officer and Regional Election Officer Md. Enamul Ali at the Election Training Institute (ETI) building in the capital’s Agargaon.

The Dhaka-13 constituency covers Mohammadpur, Adabor and Shekhertek areas.

Talking to journalists after the submission, he shared his views on the election and referendum.

Mamnul Haque expressed the hope that the next national election would be held in a peaceful, neutral and inclusive environment.

He said, "Public participation in the referendum aimed at implementing the July Charter was crucial and people living home and abroad should vote in favour of it to make the charter legally effective."

Regarding electoral alliances, he said a broader political understanding is underway involving leaders of the July movement.

He expressed optimism about reaching seat-sharing arrangements with Jamaat-e-Islami, Islami Andolon Bangladesh, NCP and other parties through dialogue.

Replying to a question on the election schedule, Mamnul Haque said his party had no objection if the deadline for submitting nomination papers or other timelines were slightly extended, provided the main polling date of February 12 remains unchanged.
