JU Journalists' Association mourns death of Khaleda Zia

JAHANGIRNAGAR UNIVERSITY, Dec 30, 2025 (BSS) - Jahangirnagar University Journalists' Association (JUJA) today expressed deep sorrow at the death of BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.

In a condolence message, JUJA President Mehedi Mamun and General Secretary Abdullah Al Mamun said Begum Khaleda Zia, as a statesperson, made significant contributions to Bangladesh and played a notable role in various political movements and the country's democratic journey.

The condolence message, signed by JUJA Office and Publication Secretary Mah Alam, was issued this evening.

Her demise has caused an irreparable loss to the political arena of Bangladesh, the JUJA leaders said, adding that they were deeply saddened by her passing.

They prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members and well-wishers.

Earlier, Begum Khaleda Zia breathed her last at around 6:00 am while undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital in the capital.
