DHAKA, Jan 9, 2026 (BSS) - A two-day photographic exhibition showcasing the struggling life and illustrious political career of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia was inaugurated today at Zia Uddan in the capital.

Organized by the Bogura Media and Cultural Society-Dhaka, the event captures her journey from a housewife to a three-time Prime Minister of Bangladesh.

The exhibition was formally inaugurated by BNP Standing Committee member Nazrul Islam Khan.

Speaking at the event, Nazrul Islam Khan remarked that Khaleda Zia's life is so vast and colourful that it is impossible to capture the entirety of her struggle within a single exhibition.

He emphasized that she dedicated her life to the people and the protection of the country's independence and sovereignty.

He further noted that her janaza was one of the largest in the world, reflecting her deep connection with the masses.

The exhibition features nearly 100 photographs documenting various phases of Begum Zia's family and political life.

According to the organizers, the event has seen a significant turnout, with particular interest from the younger generation who seek to learn more about her leadership.

Atiqur Rahman Rumon, adviser to the Bogura Media and Cultural Society and a member of the BNP Media Cell, described Khaleda Zia as an inseparable chapter of Bangladesh's four-decade political history and a symbol of uncompromising courage.

Marufa Rahman, the society's president, stated that each photograph serves as a historical document of her political timeline.

General Secretary of the society, Sujan Mahmud, announced that this exhibition is part of a series of planned initiatives.

He shared that the organization intends to host further programs, including documentaries and exhibitions focusing specifically on her governance, development activities, and political movements.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by several senior members of the Bogura Media and Cultural Society-Dhaka, including Marufa Rahman and Sujan Mahmud.
