ISLAMIC UNIVERSITY, Kushtia, Jan 10, 2025 (BSS) - The Islamic University (IU) unit of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir has announced its new president, secretary and organizing secretary.

The announcement was made through a press release posted on Shibir's official Facebook page on Saturday night.

Yousuf Ali of the Da'wah and Islamic Studies Department (2017-18 session) has been elected president. Rashedul Islam of the Al-Fiqh and Law Department from the same session has been nominated as secretary, while M. Jakaria Hossain of the Al-Quran and Islamic Studies Department (2018-19 session) has been appointed organizing secretary. They will serve in their respective positions for the next one year.

Earlier in the day, a members' assembly was held where Yousuf Ali was elected president through a vote of the unit members. The ballot papers were signed by Shibir Central President Nurul Islam Saddam. After counting the votes, he formally declared the results and administered the oath to the newly elected president.

Shibir Central President Nurul Islam Saddam attended the event as the chief guest, while Central Students' Rights Secretary Amirul Islam conducted the program. Central Research Secretary Md Fazael, IU Professor Dr Shaheed M. Rezwan, Professor Dr Mostafiur Rahman, Professor Dr Abdul Bari and Professor Dr Kamrul Hasan were also present at the responsibility handover ceremony.
