DHAKA, Jan 12, 2026 (BSS) - National Citizen Party (NCP) Convener Nahid Islam today held a meeting with Ameer of Bangladesh Khelafat Majlish Maulana Muhammad Mamunul Haque.

The hour-long meeting took place at around 2:00 pm today at the Khelafat Majlish Ameer’s office in Mohammadpur, said a press release.
 
During the meeting, the two leaders held detailed discussions on the country’s ongoing political situation, recent political equations and future courses of action.

They particularly exchanged views on determining strategies of the ongoing 11-party understanding, strengthening mutual cooperation and coordination, and various aspects of joint political initiatives.

The meeting also stressed the importance of forging a unified political stance to protect national interest, the country’s independence and sovereignty, and to fulfill public aspirations. 

Special emphasis was laid on building public opinion in favour of a ‘Yes’ vote in the referendum.
