DNCC to organise 3-day fair on next Eid-ul-Fitr

DHAKA, Jan 15, 2026 (BSS) - The Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) has undertaken an initiative to organise Eid congregation, a jubilant procession, and a three-day fair on the occasion of the upcoming holy Eid-ul-Fitr.

The decision was taken at a meeting held this morning at the DNCC Nagar Bhaban with DNCC Administrator Mohammad Azaz in the chair.

The meeting informed that the main Eid congregation in Dhaka will be held at the former Dhaka International Trade Fair grounds in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar. 

A three-day Eid festivity fair will also be organised at the same venue. The fair will feature various rides for children, food stalls, and stalls showcasing a range of festival-themed products.

Following the Eid prayers, a colorful procession will be brought out from the Eidgah premises. The procession will pass through the main road of Agargaon, cross Khamarbari intersection, and conclude in front of the South Plaza of the National Parliament Building on Manik Mia Avenue. After the procession, cultural programmes will be organised on Manik Mia Avenue.

There will also arrangement of a variety of traditional food items of Eid.

Representatives from different religions and ethnic communities will take part in the Eid procession. More than a hundred band parties, horse-drawn carriages, and bullock carts will join the procession. 

The procession will be further enlivened with colourful banners and festoons. In addition, puppet shows based on the history of the Mughal and Sultanate periods will be staged.
