RAJSHAHI, Jan 21, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh Betar has strengthened its
community broadcasting activities to increase voter awareness and encourage
the exercise of voting rights in the upcoming referendum and the 13th
National Parliamentary Election.

As part of this initiative, Bangladesh Betar, Rajshahi organized a special
program titled "Bangladesh Betar's Community Broadcast for Voter Awareness in
the Referendum and Elections."

The program was held this afternoon at the Bangladesh Shishu Academy
auditorium, where the importance of going to polling centers, casting votes,
and participating in the referendum was highlighted.

The event was chaired by ASM Zahid, Director General of Bangladesh Betar.

Commissioner of Rajshahi division Dr ANM Bazlur Rashid attended as the chief
guest.

In his speech, he said that through the referendum, the people of the country
are getting the opportunity to play their role at a crucial moment in
history. Desired change, he noted, can only be achieved through the exercise
of voting rights.

Emphasizing the importance of voting "Yes" in the referendum, he said that
this vote would create an opportunity to move forward toward a
discrimination-free and peaceful Bangladesh.

He added that the key to shaping the future lies in the hands of the people
and urged them to use this key.

Dr Bazlur Rashid further said that the referendum is an important step toward
ending the misuse of power and violent politics, and toward returning power
to the people.

He called on everyone, from their respective positions, to promote awareness
and positive campaigning to establish a fair and sustainable democracy.

Special guests at the event included DIG of Rajshahi Range Mohammad Shahjahan
and Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Commissioner Dr Zillur Rahman.

The speakers said that voter awareness is essential for establishing a fair
and participatory democracy.

As a state-owned media outlet, Bangladesh Betar has earned public trust over
the years by broadcasting neutral and credible information.

They also said that during referendums and elections, Bangladesh Betar's
broadcasting plays an important role in delivering accurate information,
preventing rumors, and encouraging people to exercise their voting rights.

Due to its wide listener base across both rural and urban areas, Betar is
able to quickly and effectively convey election-related messages to the
general public.

At the beginning of the program, the welcome address was delivered by Kishore
Ranjan Mallik, Regional Director of Bangladesh Betar Rajshahi.
He said that to strengthen the democratic process, Bangladesh Betar will
continue such community broadcasts and awareness programs in the public
interest in the future as well.
