Bullet-hit BNP leader Hasan Molla passes away

DHAKA, Jan 24, 2025 (BSS)- Hasan Molla, a BNP leader and general secretary of 
Hazratpur Union unit of BNP in Keraniganj in Dhaka, died today while 
undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the capital.
 
He passed away this afternoon around 3pm at the age of 45.

The incident occurred on Thursday night around 8.45pm when some unidentified 
assailants opened fire at Hasan Molla in front of the BNP Office in Ward No. 
9 under Jagannathpur village of Hazratpur Union.
 
He was seriously injured and initially admitted to Dhaka Medical College and 
Hospital (DMCH) before being transferred to another hospital for further 
treatment.

Nazim Uddin, brother-in-law of the deceased and vice president of Keraniganj 
Model Upazila BNP, confirmed the death.

Following the attack, BNP and its affiliated leaders and activists held 
protest marches in Jagannathpur area demanding justice.
