DHAKA, Jan 25, 2026 (BSS) - A court here today ordered the seizure of immovable properties worth Taka 22 crore owned by former Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) commissioner Asaduzzaman Miah and his family members.

The seized properties include lands and plots located in Faridpur, Narayanganj and Dhaka, registered under 36 separate deeds.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Sabbir Faiz passed the order, allowing two separate petitions filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

According to the petition, an investigation team has been formed to probe allegations that Asaduzzaman Miah, his family members and other relatives acquired assets beyond known sources of income through various irregularities and corrupt practices. Reliable sources indicated that the persons concerned were attempting to transfer, relocate or dispose of illegally acquired assets.

For the sake of a fair investigation, the petition said, it is necessary to immediately seize the immovable properties belonging to Asaduzzaman Miah, his family members and persons with vested interests.
