JHENAIDAH, Jan 25, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman is scheduled to visit Jhenaidah on Monday to take part in the election campaign for the upcoming 13th national parliamentary elections.
He will attend and address a public meeting at Wazir Ali School and College ground in the district town at 6:30 pm on Monday (January 26). The meeting will be organised under the auspices of Jhenaidah District Jamaat-e-Islami, where Dr. Shafiqur Rahman will speak as the chief guest.
According to district Jamaat-e-Islami sources, preparations are going on for the event in full swing. Construction of the stage at the Wazir Ali School ground began on Sunday, while the district unit of the party held a press conference on Saturday to brief journalists about the programme.
Meanwhile, enthusiasm and extensive preparations have been observed among Jamaat-e-Islami leaders and activists at both district and upazila levels ahead of the public meeting.
District Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary Abdul Awal said that the Jamaat Ameer will deliver a directional speech outlining the party's stance and strategy for the forthcoming elections. He added that the people of Jhenaidah are eagerly awaiting the Jamaat Ameer's visit.
