
DHAKA, Feb 1, 2026 (BSS) - Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 26 people in the last 24 hours across different areas of the capital under Operation Devil Hunt Phase-2, as part of its ongoing crackdown on crime.
Deputy Police Commissioner (Media and Public Relations), DMP, Muhammad Talebur Rahman Confirming the development.
The Operation Devil Hunt is being conducted regularly to maintain law and order and ensure the safety of city residents. Such drives will continue.
According to DMP officials, the arrests were made on Saturday following day-long operations in crime-prone areas under nine police stations.
Gulshan Police Station arrested one person, Sutrapur four, Mohammadpur one, Khilgaon three, Paltan five, Kalabagan one, Jatrabari seven, Kadamtali three, and Hatirjheel one.
Among the arrestees are individuals of various ages, including repeat offenders and suspects involved in different criminal activities.
The highest number of arrests-seven-were made by Jatrabari Police Station, followed by Paltan Police Station with five arrests.
DMP officials said the operations were conducted based on intelligence information and routine patrols aimed at curbing crime across the capital.
All the arrested persons have been produced before the court, police sources confirmed.
