CUMILLA, Feb 12, 2026 (BSS) - Candidate of Cumilla-4 constituency and Chief Organiser of the southern region of the National Citizen Party (NCP) Hasnat Abdullah today said that they will move closer to the doorstep of victory as the day progresses.

"As day progresses, we will move closer to the threshold of victory," he said after casting his vote at Gopalnagar High School polling centre in Debidwar upazila here at 8am today.

Hasnat Abdullah said that so far no information has reached him about any technical or procedural complications at any polling centre.

"We want to remain free from anxiety. Voting should be a festival and not something to fear. People will exercise their voting rights. They will vote for whomever they wish," he said.

He continued, "I would call upon the people of Debidwar to vote for whomever they want. I do not want personal relationships to be damaged because of voting."

Before entering the polling centre, he exchanged greetings with election officials and observed the voting process. Later, he collected a ballot paper from the designated room and cast his vote.

In Cumilla-4 constituency, the BNP alliance has extended support to Gono Odhikar Parishad's Jasim Uddin after the candidacy of BNP candidate Manjurul Ahsan Munshi was cancelled.
