EC to publish report on foreign observers

DHAKA, Feb 25, 2026 (BSS) -The Election Commission (EC) has formed a 33-
member committee to prepare and publish a report on the activities of foreign 
observers who monitored the recent referendum and the 13th parliamentary 
election.

The information was disclosed in an office order signed by EC Secretariat 
Director (Public Relations) Md Ruhul Amin Mollik on Tuesday.

According to the order, the referendum and the 13th Jatiya Sangsad election 
were held on February 12, 2026. 

A total of 57 foreign observers from different countries monitored the polls 
at the invitation of EC.

The invited observers were provided with local hospitality by the EC. 

Written accounts and photographs covering their reception at the airport, 
transfer to hotels, visits to different places of interest, participation in 
events, inspection of polling centres on Election Day and their departure 
will be documented for the report.

A committee will be formed to collect observation reports from the foreign 
observers and compile them, along with relevant photographs and write-ups, 
into a book-form document for preservation.

Each committee member will coordinate with respective teams to collect 
observer reports and submit them to the member-secretary.
 
The committee will prepare a comprehensive report based on the documents 
received and may co-opt additional members if necessary for completing the 
task.
