Semai producing company fined in Ctg over violations

CHATTOGRAM, Feb 25, 2026 (BSS)- A mobile court fined two semai-producing 
companies Taka 2.2 lakh in the Baklia area of the city for operating without 
proper registration and producing low-quality food products.

The drive was conducted at Aman Food Products and Rafiq Food Products on 
Wednesday. Authorities found that the companies were manufacturing semai 
without required registration and providing incomplete and inaccurate 
information on product labels, posing risks to public health.

Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Masuma Akhter Kona led 
the mobile court.

The owner was fined under Sections 39 and 41 of the Safe Food Act, 2013.

The operation was carried out in coordination with the Bangladesh Food Safety 
Authority, the District and Metropolitan Office of Chattogram, the Sanitary 
Inspector of Chattogram City Corporation, and a team from Baklia Police 
Station.
