Deadline for nomination submission for Bogura-6, Sherpur-3 polls today

DHAKA, March 2, 2026 (BSS) - The deadline for submission of nomination papers for the general election to Sherpur-3 constituency and the by-election to the vacant Bogura-6 constituency ends today.

According to the schedule announced by the Election Commission (EC), voting in the two constituencies will be held on Thursday, April 9, from 7:30am to 4:30pm uninterruptedly, through ballot papers to be cast in transparent ballot boxes.

As per the election timetable, March 2 is the final date for filing nomination papers, while scrutiny of the submitted papers by the returning officers will take place on March 5.

Appeals against the decisions of the returning officers may be filed from March 6 to March 10, with disposal of appeals scheduled for March 11.

The last date for withdrawal of candidature is March 14 and election symbols will be allotted on March 15.

Earlier, on February 24, the Election Commission issued two separate gazette notifications announcing the general election for Sherpur-3 and the by-election for the vacant Bogura-6 seat.
