Abdur Rahman Suny appointed as representative of Tarique Rahman in Dhaka-17 seat

DHAKA, Mar 16, 2026 (BSS)- Prime Minister’s Assistant Private Secretary-2 Abdur Rahman Suny has been appointed as the representative of Dhaka-17 lawmaker Tarique Rahman, who is now serving as the country’s Prime Minister and BNP chairman.

The appointment was given by issuing a letter signed by Prime Minister’s Principal Secretary A B M Abdus Sattar. 

In the 13th Jatiya Sangsad election held on February 12, 2026, Tarique Rahman contested from both Bogura-6 and Dhaka-17 constituencies and won in both seats.

Later, he vacated the Bogura-6 seat and took oath as the Member of Parliament from Dhaka-17.
