
DHAKA, March 16, 2026 (BSS) - Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed has drawn significant attention at the ‘Global Fraud Summit 2026’, where he is participating as a panel speaker in two high-level sessions, according to a ministry press release.
The two-day summit, taking place on March 16–17 in Vienna, is jointly organized by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and the INTERPOL at the Vienna International Centre.
During the summit, the Bangladesh Home Minister is expected to highlight the nature of fraud and scam activities in Bangladesh and outline the government’s initiatives to prevent and manage such crimes.

Global leaders and distinguished participants are showing keen interest in Bangladesh’s experience and strategies, while emphasizing a shared international commitment to strengthen cooperation against fraud.
Salahuddin Ahmed participated in the inaugural session of the summit today and will speak as a panelist in two key discussions: the high-level roundtable on “Global Fraud Response Mechanism” and a special session titled “National Commitments/Pledges on Combating Fraud.”
On the sidelines of the summit, the minister is also scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with John Brandolino and Lord Hanson.
The Home Minister left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on March 15 by Ethiopian Airlines to attend the summit and is expected to return to Dhaka on March 20 at 5:35 AM via Turkish Airlines.
