CHATTOGRAM, March 18, 2026 (BSS) - Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) Mayor Dr Shahadat Hossain today said that all preparations have been completed at Jamiatul Falah Eidgah Maidan for the city's main Eid-ul-Fitr congregation.

The mayor made the remarks while visiting the Jamiatul Falah National Mosque premises, noting that CCC carried out extensive preparations over the past week to ensure a smooth and comfortable prayer arrangement for devotees.

He said a large pandal covering around 65,000 square feet has been set up with carpeting and overhead tarpaulin to protect worshippers from possible rain. The venue has been equipped with 250 fans, sufficient lighting, 50 microphones and CCTV cameras to ensure security.

Dr Shahadat expressed hope that around 20,000 to 25,000 devotees will attend the central congregation, in line with previous years.

To facilitate the large turnout, two congregations will be held at 8:00 am and 8:45 am. Three main gates, along with the rear gate, will remain open to ease entry and reduce congestion.

He said adequate police deployment has been ensured to maintain law and order, adding that Chattogram Metropolitan Police and other agencies are working in coordination to strengthen security across the city.

The mayor stressed that building a safe city requires collective efforts, and CCC remains committed to supporting all initiatives in this regard.

The first congregation will be led by Hazratul Allama Alhaj Syed Abu Taleb Mohammad Alauddin Al Qaderi, Khatib of the mosque, while the second will be conducted by Hafez Maulana Mohammad Ahmadul Haq Al Qaderi, senior pesh imam of the mosque.
