RANGPUR, March 23, 2026 (BSS) - The festive atmosphere of Eid is prevailing on the third day of the Holy Eid-ul-Fitr, as thousands of people across Rangpur division are flocking en-masse to entertainment and tourist centers for joy.
For the past three days, a huge crowd of people has been seen at entertainment, amusement and tourist centers all over Rangpur division to enjoy this joyful festival and their Eid vacations.
Maintaining the festive mood from the day of Eid-ul-Fitr till today, people of all ages, especially youth, teenagers and young women, are flocking to these places in colorful clothes, due to which the places have become crowded.
Thousands of people are flocking to the ‘Proyas’ Entertainment Park located on the banks of the Ghagot River in Rangpur city, Fantasy Zone, Tajhat Zamindar’s Palace, Chikley Lake Water Park, Rangpur Zoo Children's Park, ‘Survi Udyan’ ‘Rupkotha Theme Park’, Town Hall premises, Zila School ground, Begum Rokeya University campus and other entertainment centers to refresh themselves and enjoy the festival.
Outside the city, people are rushing at the colorfully decorated recreational spots like Ganjipur Vinnojogot Entertainment Center, Anandanagar Park in Pirganj uazila, Maya Bhuban in Badarganj, Teesta Park in Kawnia, ‘Neelamborer Jalmahal’, Ali Baba Theme Park and Taj Ecoventure in Pirgachha upazila, Mohipur Ghat and Teesta Bridge in Gangachara upazila and Teesta Barrage Canal in the district.
Similarly, countless people are thronging the ‘Shopnopuri Artificial Amusement Park’, ‘Kantzeu Mandir’, ‘Ramsagar’, Dinajpur Rajbari’ and ‘Gore Shahid Eidgah Maidan’ in Dinajpur, ‘Neelsagar’ and Teesta Barrage Project in Nilphamari, ‘Bhitargarh Maharaja Dighee’, ‘Tentulia Dak Banglo’, Mahananda riverbank, ‘Kazi and Kazi Tea Estate and Banglabandha Land Port in Panchagarh, the Dharla Bridge in Kurigram, Tin-Bigha Corridor, Burimari Zero Point and Shishu Park in Lalmonirhat district.
Hundreds of people are thronging Haripur Rajbari with remarkable architecture, beautifully designed Baliadangi Mosque (Balia Mosque), historic Ramrai Dighi, Raja Tonka Nath Palace (Ranisankail Rajbari), Fun City Children Park, Bhully Dam, Jagadal Rajbari and DC Tourist Park in Thakurgaon district.
In all eight districts of Rangpur division, all these entertainment centers and other tourist spots have been decorated with a new look and an atmosphere of fun and entertainment to attract more tourists amidst commendable security measures.
Thousands of children, teenagers, students, youth and children dressed in colorful clothes are gathering at these places with their parents, where temporary fairs, shops and business centers have also been set up to sell various handicrafts, food and toys.
Hundreds of people are visiting Chikley Lake Water Park in Rangpur city to enjoy the beauty of nature and share the joy of Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations.
School and college students Lailey, Hamida, Yasmin Sultana, Ferdousi, Harunur Rashid, Maqbul Hossain and Nafisa told BSS that they are excited to enjoy the beauty of these beautiful places at various entertainment centers in the city.
University students Touhidur Rahman, Mohammad Ali, Nut Jahan, Bely Khatun and Zohra said that they enjoyed traveling on a speed boat through the beautiful natural scenery while visiting Chikley Lake Water Park in Rangpur city.
Talking to BSS on the Teesta Bridge at Mohipur Ghat in Gangachara upazila on the juncture of Rangpur and Lalmonirhat districts, school teacher Rawshan Ara an Aminul Islam said they came there with family members to see the bridge, river and enjoy beauty of the nature.
Young people Atika, Mohana, Halima and Aminur Rahman while visiting the Teesta Road Bridge and nearby Teesta Park at Kawnia upazila of Rangpur said they enjoyed the loveliness of the river as well as natural beauty there.
Couple Golam Ahad and Mosfeka Khanom at Rangpur Zoo Children's Park said they enjoyed riding on ‘Nagordola’ with their children and observing various animals, reptiles and birds there.
Similarly, couple Yasmin and Rezaul Karim, trader Morshed Ahmed and primary teacher Sohana Parveen at 'Proyas' Entertainment Park in Rangpur city said they were excited to enjoy the natural beauty and recreational facilities there.
Rangpur's prominent educationist and literary figure Professor Mohammad Shah Alam said since time immemorial, people across Rangpur division have been flocking to entertainment centers during the celebrations of Eid, Bengali New Year and other festivals.
"With the continuous improvement in the socio-economic conditions of the common people, the need for entertainment as a cultural need of their souls is increasing and this trend will continue in the future," he added.
