851 litres of illegal diesel recovered in Gazipur

DHAKA, April 1, 2026 (BSS) - A joint operation led by Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and the local administration recovered 851 litres of illegally stored diesel from a filling station in Pubail, Gazipur today. 

According to a BGB press release, a special team from Gazipur Battalion (63 BGB) conducted the drive at "Ms. Turag Filling Station" around 12:10 pm, toady acting on confidential information. 

The drive was carried out in the presence of an executive magistrate.

During the operation, authorities seized 851 litres of diesel that had been stored illegally at the station. 

The on-duty magistrate also imposed a fine of Taka 60,000 on the filling station authority for violating regulations related to fuel storage.

Speaking on the matter, Battalion Commander Lt. Col. Md. Masud Al Ferdous said that BGB remains vigilant in protecting the country's energy sector and preventing illegal storage and smuggling of fuel.

He added that such drive will continue in the future to ensure compliance with the law and safeguard national resources.
