Army Chief inaugurates Army Hill and Jungle Warfare School in Bandarban

DHAKA, Apr 19, 2026 (BSS) - Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman on Saturday inspected Alikadam Cantonment in Bandarban and inaugurated the newly built Army Hill and Jungle Warfare School.

The training facility has been established to enhance the Army’s operational capacity in conducting missions in remote hilly and forested areas, as well as in plains, according to a press release issued by ISPR.

It will enable personnel to undergo operational and technical training to acquire the necessary physical fitness, mental resilience and tactical skills required to effectively discharge their duties in hostile and hazardous environments.

Among others, the General Officer Commanding of the Army Training and Doctrine Command, the Engineer-in-Chief, the Adjutant General, the General Officer Commanding of Headquarters 24 Infantry Division, the Area Commander of Chittagong Area, senior military officers of the concerned area and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
