BAGERHAT, April 18, 2026 (BSS)- A two-day Harinam Moha yogga and grand congregation of Matua devotees was held at Bangladesh Ashwini Sebashram in Ganga Channa village under Kolatola Union of Chitalmari upazila in Bagerhat.

The century-old tradition programme began on Thursday night while the main events started on Friday.

Various religious rituals, devotional songs and participation of devotees marked the arrangement.

The ashram premises saw a large turnout of devotees and visitors, creating a vibrant spiritual atmosphere.

The historic ‘Kamna Sagar’ pond was a key attraction, where devotees gathered from early morning for ritual bathing, believing it brings spiritual purification.

The event also showcased communal harmony, as people from different faiths, including Muslims, voluntarily assisted by providing water, rest facilities and other services.

Adequate security was taken for holding the event in a peaceful manner. A Boishakh fair was also held with stalls selling toys, sweets and household items.

Local BNP leaders visited the venue yesterday afternoon.
