DHAKA, Apr 18, 2026 (BSS) - State Minister for Youth and Sports Aminul Haque has said development and empowerment of the youths can build a beautiful and prosperous Bangladesh.

In view of this, all youths, irrespective of party affiliation and opinion, must be involved in nation building activities, he said.

The State Minister said this while speaking as the chief guest at a youth awareness meeting organized at the head office of the Department of Youth Development in the capital today.

Aminul Haque said a long-term plan has been made for the overall development of the youth and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman was closely involved with the plan.

He said that it is possible to bring about radical changes in the country's social system by ensuring the youths to contribute to the society. 

To ensure administrative transparency and dynamism, he asked district-level officials to be present in their respective offices on time and monitor the attendance of their subordinates.

Aminul also said that all development projects must be completed within the stipulated time and allocated budget. He directed the immediate formation of a 'monitoring cell' to verify whether the upazila and district level training programs are being implemented properly.

The State Minister said every government official should rise above political identity and work for the country's interest. Everyone should be careful so that none can use political identity to achieve any personal interest.

The meeting, chaired by director general of the Department of Youth Development Dr. Gazi Md. Saifuzzaman, was attended by Youth and Sports Secretary Mahbub-ul-Alam and youth development officers from different districts.
