NDC delegation visits Police Headquarters

DHAKA, Apr 27, 2026 (BSS) — A delegation of trainee officers from the National Defence College (NDC) Course-2026 visited Police Headquarters today as part of their training program.

The team, led by Air Vice Marshal Md Shafiqul Islam, arrived in the morning and toured the headquarters. 

During the visit, the delegation chief paid a courtesy call on Inspector General of Police (IGP), Md. Ali Hossain Fakir. They exchanged greetings and souvenirs, according to a press release of Police Headquarters.

On the occasion, an interactive session was held at the Hall of Integrity of Police Headquarters, chaired by Additional IGP (Crime and Ops) Khondoker Rafiqul Islam. 

At the session, DIG (HR) Quazi Zia Uddin presented an overview of Bangladesh Police, highlighting its mission, vision, history, and heritage, as well as its contributions to the Liberation War, role in maintaining law and order, participation in UN peacekeeping missions, and future plans.

A documentary showcasing the force’s history, service delivery, recent initiatives, and contributions during the Liberation War was also screened.

The program concluded with a question-answer session, where participants sought information on law and order challenges, crime control, cybercrime, and traffic management. 

Senior police officials responded to their queries.

In his speech, Additional IGP Khondoker Rafiqul Islam said the visit would further strengthen the cordial relations between Bangladesh Police and the armed forces. 

He noted that such engagements help build mutual respect and cooperation.

He added that during times of national need and crisis, members of Bangladesh Police and the armed forces work together closely for the welfare of the country and its people.

The delegation included 104 trainees, among them 31 representatives from the armed forces, civil administration, Bangladesh Police, Bangladesh Ansar and VDP, Bangladesh Bank, and participants from China, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Malaysia, Mali, Nepal, Nigeria, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zambia.
