16 students receive RU faculty of Arts Dean’s award

RAJSHAHI, April 27, 2026 (BSS) - Sixteen students from the Faculty of Arts at Rajshahi University (RU) have received the Dean’s Award for 2023. 

The award was presented to the students at a ceremony held today in the Senate Building.
 
The event was chaired by Professor Mohammad Belal Hossain, Dean of the Faculty of Arts. 

Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Professor Mohammad Main Uddin and Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) Professor Farid Uddin Khan were present as special guests.

The top students who received the Dean’s Award are: Atiya Sakera Sahih and Md. Alamgir Hossain (Philosophy), Latifa Khatun and Mahfuza Sultana Mukta (History), Asaduzzaman Rafi (English), Sabrina Momtaz Ripa and Poly Rani (Bangla), Fatema Nasrin (Islamic History and Culture), Mahmudul Hasan (Arabic), Umme Habiba (Islamic Studies), Anindita Alamgir (Music),  Meftahun Nahar (Theatre), Khairun Nahar Alo (Persian Language and Literature), Zakia Sultana and Monira Akter (Sanskrit) and Moniza Akter (Urdu).

They earned this award for securing the top positions in their respective departments in the Bachelor’s (Honors) examination.
 
During the event, award recipients Meftahun Nahar, Khairun Nahar Alo, Zakia Sultana, and Moniza Akter shared their feelings in speeches.
 
Congratulating the awardees, the guests said that recognition in any field inspires and instills a greater sense of responsibility in the recipient. 

They noted that teachers, families, and many others contributed to the students’ achievements. 

The guests also expressed hope that the Dean’s Award recipients will continue to make outstanding contributions in their respective fields both at home and abroad.
