6 more die of measles, measles-like symptoms

DHAKA, April 28, 2026 (BSS) – Six more people have died of measles and measles-like symptoms across the country in the last 24 hours, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

“A total of 1,276 new suspected measles cases were reported during the 24-hour period from yesterday morning to this morning. During the same period, 163 confirmed measles patients were admitted to hospitals,” according to a press release issued by the DGHS control room today. 

It said that the cumulative number of hospital admissions with suspected measles has reached 23,348 so far across the country.

Of them, 19,991 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospitals, it added.

The DGHS further said that since March 15, a total of 226 people have died due to measles and measles-like symptoms in the country.
