DMP files 1,878 cases for traffic violations

DHAKA, April 28, 2026 (BSS) - The Traffic Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed 1,878 cases against traffic law violators during drives in different parts of the capital.

Deputy Commissioner of the DMP Media and Public Relations Division, N M Nasiruddin, disclosed the information in a press release issued today.

According to the release, the drives were conducted on Monday across various areas of the capital, leading to the filing of these cases.

Among the divisions, 114 cases were filed under Traffic-Ramna, 180 under Traffic-Lalbagh, 380 under Traffic-Motijheel and 144 under Traffic-Wari.

In addition, 306 cases were filed under Traffic-Tejgaon, 325 under Traffic-Mirpur, 293 under Traffic-Uttara and 136 under Traffic-Gulshan divisions.

The release further said that 367 vehicles were dumped and 208 vehicles were towed during the drives.
