Belarus envoy meets Agri Minister

DHAKA, April 28, 2026 (BSS) - Ambassador of Belarus to Bangladesh Mikhail Kasko today paid a courtesy call on Agriculture and Fisheries and Livestock Minister Mohammed Aminur Rashid at his office at the secretariat here.

During the meeting, the minister and the envoy discussed cooperation in agriculture, fisheries and livestock sectors between the two countries.

The minister said Bangladesh is an agriculture-based economy and the government is working to expand the use of modern technologies in the sector.

He highlighted the country’s growing demand for fertilizers, quality seeds and advanced agricultural technologies, adding that initiatives are also underway to boost production in the dairy and livestock sectors.

The envoy noted that Belarus has considerable expertise in agriculture and livestock. 
He expressed interest in supporting Bangladesh in agricultural mechanization and in supplying fertilizers, mentioning that Belarus is one of the world’s leading producers of potash.
