72 arrested in Tejgaon

DHAKA, April 28, 2026 (BSS) - The Tejgaon Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) today arrested 72 individuals in coordinated drives across multiple crime-prone areas in the city.

According to a police press release, the drive led to the seizure of 58 yaba tablets, two machetes (samurai), two cleavers and Tk 2,770 in cash.

Among the detainees, seven were arrested from Tejgaon Police Station, eight from Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, 26 from Mohammadpur, six from Adabor, 17 from Tejgaon Industrial Area and eight from Hatirjheel Police Station areas. 

All the arrested persons have been sent to court for legal proceedings, police said.
