Türkiye’s ambassador calls on public works minister

DHAKA, April 28, 2026 (BSS) - Türkiye’s Ambassador to Bangladesh Ramis Sen today paid a courtesy call on Housing and Public Works Minister Zakaria Taher at the ministry’s office in Bangladesh Secretariat here.
 
Various issues of mutual interest of the two countries were discussed during the meeting.

The Minister said Bangladesh and Türkiye have long enjoyed friendly relations and invited Turkish investors to invest in Bangladesh’s construction, shipbuilding, pharmaceuticals and renewable energy sectors.

He said Bangladesh aims to become a trillion-dollar economy by 2035 and the government is working towards achieving this goal. Bangladesh’s business-friendly investment policy has created a highly conducive environment for foreign investment, he added. 

During the meeting, the Türkiye’s ambassador highlighted the long-standing relations between the two countries and said that strong ties exist between Bangladesh and Türkiye in areas such as cooperation, partnership and trade. 

He noted that there is more scope to expand investment and mutual development opportunities in Bangladesh. The ambassador also invited the minister to attend the “Türkiye Construction Summit-2026” to be held in Türkiye in next June.
