NETROKONA, June 23, 2026 (BSS)-  Deputy Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad Barrister Kayser Kamal today underlined that everyone should work together  regardless of party affiliation.

He said, "We want to build a developed and modern Kolmakanda, an upazila of the district, that future generations will remember with pride.”

The Deputy Speaker made the remarks while speaking as the chief guest at a stakeholder consultation meeting titled "Construction of a Bypass Road at Kolmakanda Bazar and Market Development."
The Upazila Administration organized the event at the Kolmakanda Upazila Parishad Auditorium this afternoon.

Kayser Kamal outlined Kolmakanda's economic framework and said that if the proposed planned bypass road and modern highway are constructed centring around Kolmakanda Bazar, it will bring about a radical change in the area's communication system.

Sharing his far-reaching vision of building Kolmakanda as a modern and planned model township, the Deputy Speaker said, “If a municipality is established here in future, it will be possible to ensure more effective civic services, including drainage systems, waste management, and road infrastructure.”

Emphasizing the importance of keeping young people away from drugs, crime, moral degradation and transforming them into skilled human resources, he said that initiatives have been taken to establish a modern sports stadium, a technical training centre, and a technical or engineering college in the area.

Sending a stern message to contractors and engineers regarding ensuring 100% transparency and quality in development projects, he said, "The quality of every project built with public money must be ensured. Any irregularities, corruption, or use of substandard materials in construction work will not be tolerated .”

The meeting was presided over by Netrokona's Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Khandaker Mushfiqur Rahman.
